In July 2021 the YML Network launched the 3D Printing Contest – MADE AT HOME inviting Members of the Young Manufacturing Leaders were invited to design and print an item that has a practical or decorative application in the everyday life, whether at home or in the office. Participants in the contest submitted also a descriptive video to present their projects.
The aim of the contest was to promote manufacturing and technical thinking proving that innovation is everywhere around us, not only in universities and labs but even at home!
3 winning projects and two special mentions were selected by Czech Technical University in Prague. The contest was carried out in collaboration with Prusa Research who kindly provide the prizes for winners and special mentions. First and second place projects wined an Original Prusa 3D printer while third place and the two special mentions received a Prusa Premium-Quality Filament each.
During the 2021 YML Main Event held in October in the framework of the World Manufacturing Week, winners and special mentions were invited to travel to Italy to be officially awarded. The award ceremony was presented by Libor Beránek, Director of the Department of Machining, Process Planning and Metrology – CTU in Prague.
